UEats

UEats is an app and touchscreen interface that worked to consolidate campus health, dining information, and ordering into one system to make healthy on-campus eating easier and more accessible for university students.

The project was based on half a semester’s worth of research on NCSU’s Dining system and how students access information about their dining account and healthy eating options. My partner Sara Beaver and I realized that there was a disconnect between the campus providing many different healthy eating options and students not knowing they exist. With this knowledge, we created UEats.

Before the creation of this interface, we conducted a series of literature reviews, fly-on-the-wall observations, and interviews with students and an on-campus dietician to learn about the university’s dining and nutrition system and its level of accessibility. With this gathered information, I designed a folded broadsheet to use with the intent to inform members of the university of the gap that exists between campus resources and the students actually finding and using them.
